The Sherman County Treasurer’s Office is located on the second floor of the Courthouse in Loup City, NE. The office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The office is open during the noon hour.
Driver's License Examination
Location: Drivers Exam Room, bottom floor of the Courthouse
Time: 10:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. & 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Every Tuesday

Duties of the Treasurer's Office:
- To collect all revenues for the County
- To bill and collect all real estate and personal taxes in the County
- To title and register all motor vehicles with tax situs in the County
- To issue driver licenses, C.D.L's, learner permits, I.D. cards, school permits, ect.
- To disburse collections of the proper political subdivisions
- Boat Registration
- Snowmobile Registration

REMINDER
The Sherman County Treasurer’s Office will be closed on Friday, April 25th, 2025, in observance of Arbor Day. Our office reminds all Sherman County taxpayers that the First Half of Real Estate & Personal Property taxes are due on April 30th, 2025. Your tax payments can be mailed in or can be dropped off in our drop box located on the west side of the building. You may also pay them online or call our office and pay with a credit card, be aware that the credit card processor will charge you a convenience fee for using a card. Please have your tax statement payment stubs with your checks for quick and accurate service.
In order to avoid interest, please allow for sufficient time when mailing in your tax payment. Payments that are postmarked May 1st and after will have an additional interest amount.
