Sherman County Telephone Company
The state railway commission has dismissed the complaint of K. H. Ladegard against the Sherman County Telephone Company. The Sherman County company refused switchboard service at Litchfield to the farm line. The order was written by Dr. Winnett.
The farm line was constructed parallel to the Sherman County Company lines after the line built by the latter company had proved unsatisfactory. The Sherman County Company claimed that switchboard connection would reduce the value of their own competing line and would inject value into the new farm line. The commission asserts that the question before it is whether the Sherman County Telephone Company can be compelled to become a party to the destruction of its own property. The commission answers that such a move would not be equitable and therefore dismisses the complaint.
